New Submission 2015 Contents Page Inspirations

Due to the fact that Afrobeats is a niche genre, it was difficult to locate contents pages residing in it. I simply used contents pages from other genres as exemplars or rather inspirations for my own contents page. They all share similar layout designs and colour schemes, ones that suit my ideas so therefore I intend to incorporate these aspects in to my own work while still portraying the fact that it is a Afrobeats contents page.

New submission 2015 Construction Analysis

Taking in to consideration the feedback from my preliminary task, the front cover and contents page construction I decided to alter certain factors to ensure my work would improve and be of a high standard. To do this I used a Sony SLR camera, I used Photoshop instead of Microsoft Publisher and I followed the conventions of normal music magazines by using a standard shot in the form of a close up rather than a high angle shot.

I view these magazines as inspirations due to the fact that they all share a similar factor, they each roughly use close up shots to present their models on the front cover. Many Afrobeats magazines use this shot for their front cover, it could even be seen as being a convention. I intend to use this particular shot for my front cover.

New submission 2015 Examples Of Contemporary Uk Artists

These are contemporary Uk artists, these artist can be seen as being my case studies or rather inspirations, as my magazine will also feature a contemporary Afrobeats artist or artists as I intend to use a group. I aim to emulate these artists mise-en-scen in the way they e.g hats, chains, watches etc.

I decided to use this image due to the fact that this particular shot(close up) resembles that of other Afrobeat magazine, it is a reoccurring factor, a key convention.

I felt the lighting and the props used suited the style effectively, the fact that this is an ensemble shot is also why I chose this image.
