School Magazine Research Planning

Target Audience
The target audience will be the sixth form students and teachers, but mainly the students.

Name Of Magazine
The magazine name has to motivate students to study hard and that studying gets you the grades, it has to attract and catch the readers eye. The magazine will be called Study Zone.

Front Cover Model
The front cover model will be a student; magazine front cover models normally relate to the target audience, in this case students and teachers.

Shot
The magazine front cover will have a inside shot with a high angle.

Mise-en-scene
The magazine front cover will be located in the common room, the model will be wearing uniform with a pen in their hand writing on a piece of paper, the location (the common room) should be well lit.

Sell Lines
My main sell lines will be 'success is in the air.... inhale it', 'A* equals big money' and 'enter the study zone if you dare'. The magazine will entice the target audience with unique sell lines.

This magazine comes under the catergory of school lifestyle

Target Audience
The target audience for this school magazine is college students, simply because the mast head says college so it indicates the magazine's target audience.

Layout

The layout is presented in a very professional way as the model is in the centre, which of course is vital in any magazine as the models face is what attracts publicity and sells the magazine. The colours follow the scheme of black, blue, purple and a white backgroud. The purpose of the colours in this front cover is not to blend in with the models dress, but make it stand out instead(make it easily visible). This is so the model is the first thing the reader sees. Futhermore the model is covering some of the masthead, showing that she is famous enough to sell the magazine without the help of the mast head. It also implies that the magazine doesn't really need the mast head too much as the magazine is well known already.

Headline and sell lines
The head line is presented well as it is bold, the black used for it makes it very easy to read. The sell lines live up to their purpose, they are short, catchy and easy to read. The language used on the front cover is engaging e.g.'meet television's hottest new host.'

Conventions
The front cover follows all the convetions well as the it is set out properly e.g. the sell lines aren't covering the models face. There is also a barcode implying this magazine needs to be bought.
